Reds discover fifth-round opponents
Although United and City are regular opponents in the Continental Cup, we have only faced our crosstown rivals once in the FA Cup, with the Reds eliminated in the fourth round two years ago.
We were knocked out by Leicester City in the fifth round last season, meaning the run to the quarter-finals in 2018/19 is still our best FA Cup showing.
A 3-2 loss to Reading after extra time stopped us in our tracks that year and City now stand between Skinner’s side and another last-eight berth.
