Tom Brady to 49ers could happen next season

The San Francisco 49ers will have a big decision to make at quarterback next season. One NFL insider thinks Tom Brady to 49ers could be a real possibility next season. The 49ers have a few options for who will be under center next season. They’ve had a few successful players at the position in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

Trey Lance is a question mark. The 2021 first-round pick has been injured since Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. Jimmy Garoppolo, who had a fantastic season coming in for Lance until Garoppolo was injured, will be a free agent in 2023. Brock Purdy, the 2022 Mr. Irrelevant pick, who will lead the 49ers against the Seattle Seahawks Saturday in the Wild Card round, is also a potential starter for the 49ers next season.

Ian Rapoport, with the NFL Network, thinks Brady, a San Mateo, California native, coming to the 49ers is also a possibility in 2023. Brady will be a free agent in 2023.

“We know he has an affinity for his former hometown. We know he has an affinity for the 49ers. He took so much time to take stock of things when he was there earlier this year. At least that is an option for the 49ers,” Rapoport said.
