Raiders Davante Adams’ Commitment to Excellence

In the new Madden 23, it was announced that Davante Adams would be joining the 99 Club. Adams was recently traded to the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason and is somewhat symbolic to his “commitment to excellence”.

Davante Adams got drafted by the Packers in 2014 and since then has been making a name for himself. Adams is what you may call ‘fine wine’, he only gets better with age. If you compare his stats from his rookie year to his last season with the Packers, his REC, YDS, and TDS all tripled throughout his career, so far with his total YDS being the largest difference.

What does this mean for the Raiders?

Per Doric Sam, the Las Vegas Raiders haven’t had a member in the 99 Club since Randy Moss in 2006, where Moss was joined by the likes of Peyton Manning, Ed Reed and Ray Lewis. The Las Vegas Raiders finished last season with 10-7 and are looking to avenge themselves in the coming season. In the offseason the Raiders had a very aggressive plan in getting more talented players. One of them so happened to be Davante Adams, a very familiar face to the Raiders QB, Derek Carr.

Carr and Adams played at Fresno State from 2012 to 2013, and they had this special connection that was undeniable. In two seasons, Carr and Adams compiled 133 REC, 3000 YDS and 38 TDS during their time in Bulldog Stadium. Giving Carr a wide receiver like Adams could potentially change his entire game… for the better.

It can be projected that Adams will go for 131 REC and 1732 YDS this coming season based on last season stats…if he was still a Packer which is a great thing for the Raiders. One thing for sure is that Adams “commitment to excellence” will never waiver.
