Potential free-agent pickups for Houston Texans include two Eagles

Free agency begins March 15 at 4 p.m. ET.

Positional needs: QB, WR, DL, OL

The Texans have holes everywhere. They also have plenty of cap space and two first-round picks — one at No. 2, another at No. 12. Of course, they’ll pick a QB in the first round to replace middling Davis Mills. GM Nick Caserio has one, last chance to turn the franchise around. He must hire the right head coach and make a significant splash this offseason.

Ethan Pocic, center, Cleveland Browns

It’ll benefit Houston’s future quarterback if the offensive line undergoes a revamp. According to Pro Football Focus, the unit was 28th in run blocking and 29th in pass blocking in 2022. It would be wise to let impending free agent Scott Quessenberry walk because he allowed the most sacks of all NFL centers in 2022 (seven).

Despite missing four games due to a knee injury, Pocic was PFF’s third-highest-rated center this season. He allowed two sacks and 10 total pressures. He’ll have plenty of suitors, but the Texans have the money to make an offer stand out.

Sportrac estimates Pocic will receive a four-year, $23.8 million deal based on market value.
