Police ID two teens killed in car crash Friday on Schertz road

Police have identified two teenagers killed in a two-vehicle car crash Friday on a Schertz road as 19-year-old Madison F. O’Neil, of Cibolo, and 17-year-old Taina J. Rivera, of Schertz.

Police said O’Neil was driving here Nissan Altima around 1 a.m. with Rivera as her passenger when the accident occurred near the intersection of FM 3009 and Webster Drive.

According to police, O’Neil was driving eastbound on Webster and attempting a left tun onto FM 3009 and was struck by a Jeep Cherokee driven by Thomas Wentworth, a 17-year-old San Antonio resident, causing major damage to both vehicles.

O’Neil died at the scene and Rivera was taken to San Antonio Medical Center, where she later died. Wentworth was evaluated at the scene and was released by EMS.

No charges have been filed and alcohol does not appear to have played a factor, police said.
