Photos: 121st U.S. Amateur at Oakmont Country Club 2021

The oldest U.S. Golf Association championship is the U.S. Amateur.

The 121st edition is underway at two courses: Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, and Longue Vue Club in nearby Verona.

Oakmont Country Club was designed by Henry Fownes and first opened in 1903. It was the nation’s first golf course to be recognized as a National Historic Landmark. Longue Vue Club was designed by Scottish architect Robert White, who was the first president of the PGA of America. He also installed the putting green on the White House Lawn. Longue Vue opened for play in 1922. In 1935, A.W. Tillinghast oversaw renovations.
