PFF Reveals Its Highest-Graded NFL Rookie This Season

The NFL season has shown us that rookies can have massive impacts in their first season.

On offense alone, there have been at least 10+ rookies who have played very well thus far.

But, one rookie stands out with the highest grade according to Pro Football Focus.

That is Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce.

Pierce was selected in the fourth round of this past NFL Draft.

He was the seventh running back selected in the draft, but according to PFF, he has outplayed all of them.

On the season, Pierce has 148 attempts for 678 yards and three touchdowns.

He leads all rookies in rushing yards this season.

Also, he has two 130+ yard games and continues to perform at a high level on a bad Texans team.

Rookie Of The Year Race

The Rookie of the Year race in the NFL is going to be electric for the rest of the season.

There are so many great rookies this season that the award is still clearly up for grabs.

Some of the names in contention with Pierce are Kenneth Walker III, Chris Olave, and Garrett Wilson.

All of these players have had substantial impacts on their teams.

Even though Pierce leads all rookies in rushing, watch out for Walker.

He took over the starting role in Seattle in Week 6 and has been elite since then.

Walker has seven rushing touchdowns on the season including two games of 100+ yards.

The battle between him and Pierce for the top rookie running back will be fun to watch for the rest of the season.

All of the previous players mentioned are deserving of the ROY award, and whoever has the best second half will likely win it.
