Pep Guardiola called for tunnel vision from his Manchester City squad and warned they cannot slip up at Fulham on Sunday.

City completed the double over Arsenal in midweek, with the Premier League title now in their hands, but only drew at Nottingham Forest after victory at the Emirates in February.

Guardiola – who revealed he trusts his players implicitly to get the job done – is wary that one poor result can hand the advantage back to the Gunners.

‘At Forest we had some margin, now we have no margin,’ Guardiola said. ‘People say the feeling is that it is over. It’s not over. It will be over when it’s over.

‘Impossible? No, it can be possible. You can drop points in one week. We have to be aware of that and then will be easier not to drop points.

‘There are still seven games. For example, I saw 15-20 mins at Goodison Park [on Thursday night] and saw how aggressive they are.

‘I know at the Emirates we won, everyone was happy. Then we go Forest and we draw.

‘Now we won and we go Fulham – a special stadium, organised team. If we do our job, we’ll be closer. Nothing is being taken for granted.’

Guardiola admitted that the atmosphere around the team was ‘flat’ earlier in the season and suggested that was a hangover from winning last year’s title.

‘In periods it has been flat,’ he added. ‘”Ah, another game,” in September time. When this happens it is the worst. When you have a team hungry after losing, is alive, it’s better. “Another win, doesn’t matter.”

‘In the end, at the end of the season is close, people aren’t’ flat. When it happens is good.’
