Patty Mills pulls April Fools’ prank on Instagram, announces music career

Editor’s Note: Yes, we fell for it. An earlier version of this story indicated that Mills’ announcement was real when, in fact, it was an April Fools’ joke. This has been corrected in the version below.

Patty Mills is known for being a star on the basketball court, but the popular Spurs player recently announced he was perusing a second career — music.

Mills announced on Instagram that he planned to release an EP on iTunes during his quarantine break from basketball.

“It’s no secret how much I love music,” wrote the basketball player, who really does play guitar. “That’s why I couldn’t be prouder to announce that I am using this time off from basketball to launch my music career!”

Turns out, it was an April Fools’ joke. But in all seriousness, Mills is taking song requests from fans.
