Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany have glitzy date night at the ‘Quarterback’ premiere
Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany, enjoyed a date night Tuesday at the Los Angeles premiere of the Chiefs superstar’s new Netflix docuseries, “Quarterback.”
Dressed in a mint green suit with dark loafers, the two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, 27, smiled beside wife Brittany, who stunned in a sleek silver dress and matching accessories.
Mahomes, who is prominently featured in the series, which launched Wednesday on Netflix, then posed for photos on the grass-like carpet with Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and Eagles signal-caller Marcus Mariota, who also star in the show.
In the first episode of the series, Mahomes and Brittany, 27, recalled the early stages of their romance and how the five-time Pro Bowler was initially in the friend zone.
“We kinda met in seventh, eighth grade,” Mahomes said. “She was the grade above me, I was kind of the best friend, in the friend zone forever.
“I used to walk her to class and was trying to flirt. When I was a sophomore in high school, she was a junior. I actually got her a rose … I kinda … I had a crush on her. But, I was getting a rose as a joke for Valentine’s Day.”
Brittany, who is the co-owner of the KC Current soccer team, thought Mahomes’ gesture “was the cutest thing in the world.”
“And then everyone at our lunch table started chanting, ‘Kiss him, kiss him,’ and made it really awkward cause we were ‘just friends’ so that’s kind of what started it and then I thought it was cute,” she said.
“… When they were chanting, I thought it was kind of awkward and it was funny. I was like, ‘Okay this guy is actually kind of cute. Maybe I do like him.’ So then we just started talking and then started dating.’”
Mahomes and Brittany got engaged in September 2020 before tying the knot last March in a lavish ceremony in Hawaii.
They have two children together: daughter Sterling Skye, 2, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, who is 7 months old.
Mahomes, who is entering his seventh season with the Chiefs, recently completed his palatial dream home in Cass County, Missouri, which boasts a par-3 golf hole and a 50-yard football field.
He agreed to a 10-year contract extension with Kansas City in July 2020 worth $450 million.
