San Antonio Parks and Recreation announced the next two free events where local households can claim a free fruit tree! The Urban Forestry Division is giving out 850 trees at each event, which has been renamed from Jammin’ Jams to Sweet-n-Green.
The first is a walk-up event at Rosedale Park on Saturday, February 25, starting at 8 a.m. until all trees are given away on a first-come-first-serve basis. Households can claim one tree of their choice from lemon, grapefruit, avocado, lime, key lime, Satsuma orange, pink lemon, pomegranate, mango, and fig.

The second giveaway will be a drive-thru event at Nelson Wolff Stadium on March 18 starting at 8 a.m. Households will have the choice of one tree, but the department doesn’t have the tree list quite yet.
