Gregg Popovich moves into 4th behind just eleven wins away from Jerry Sloan

13.

Ah, “Lucky” number 13 — like Friday the 13th considered by many to be a day to fear for bad things tend to happen. As a result of the negativity of the numeral, many buildings have no 13th floor. Things like these cause triskaidekaphobia, the fear of the number 13.

Thirteen is the the smallest emirp (look it up, it’s a thing). In rugby, each side has 13 players. Thirteen also signifies the age at which a boy matures through a Bar Mitzvah.

During the Gregg Popovich era, thirteen different players have worn jersey numbers 1 and 3, which makes Lonnie Walker IV and Quincy Pondexter the thirteenth for each respectively.

And last nights win at the AT&T Center against the Utah Jazz was #13 in our Pop 25 Countdown. This was a big one as Pop now has 1,210 all-time wins tying him with the great Pat Riley.

So cheer on the Spurs as they continue they home stand tomorrow against the Phoenix Suns and Pop looks to make another win and make 4th place all his own in the all-time rankings.
