Aron Baynes compares the Celtics Eastern Conference Finals loss to the 2013 Finals
Spurs never stop being Spurs, but sometimes they play for other teams. Such is the situation with a member of the 2014 Championship team, Aron Baynes.
Baynes left San Antonio for Detroit when the money was too good to pass up. A couple of year later he signed with the Boston Celtics. He has done quite well for himself. And a couple of days ago, the Celtics fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
But instead of sulking, praising LeBron’s infallibility to get to the Finals, or blaming the loss on key injuries, Baynes made this statement:
Aron Baynes says he just told the team that in 2013, his Spurs lost a Game 7 and it “galvanized the group” for the next season. The following year, the Spurs came back and won it all.

It’s great to see the Spurs attitude still pulsing through. Keep an eye on the Celtics next season. Something tells me they will be ready and up for the challenge.
