San Antonio community continues to bring smiles to local children as the holidays are coming.

Not every child in San Antonio looks forward to the holidays. For many, the break from school takes them out of their routine and away from their friends. and for many, gifts may not be the most memorable part of their break.

The San Antonio Spurs, in partnership with community businesses, continue their charitable deeds during the holiday season. This time, it was Spurs guard Derrick White who, with the help of Academy Sports + Outdoors, brightened the day of some local youngsters.

In partnership with Academy Sports + Outdoors and in conjunction with the NBA Season of Giving, San Antonio Spurs Guard Derrick White will deliver bikes and helmets to 25 local kids ages 5-7 at the Eastside Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio, located at 3503 Martin Luther King Dr., on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 4:45 p.m.

White was joined by The Coyote and the Spurs Hype Squad as he surprised local youth from the Boys & Girls Club. Academy’s donation program benefits over 1,500 boys and girls across sixteen states by providing children in need with bikes and helmets. The goods are distributed through schools and local organizations as rewards for attendance, academics, and positive behaviors in school.

Check back tomorrow to see what else the Spurs have up their sleeves this holiday season.
