Open Thread: Spurs should create a “fully vaccinated” fan section for remaining home games

There are just a handful of home games remaining, but the San Antonio Spurs should make every attempt to pack as many fans into the AT&T center as possible to cheer on their Silver & Black.

This Saturday in Los Angeles, the Dodgers will host the San Diego Padres and Chavez Ravine may see an increase in fandom as a special “fully vaccinated fan section” is being given a trial run.

To attend, ticket holders must present proof that the two week window has passed since receiving the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Those who do will not be required to maintain social distancing once in the designated area. Although face coverings are still required, they can be removed once patrons are at their seats to allow eating and drinking.

If this works, the Dodgers could continue to allow sections of this nature to be set aside allowing larger crowds at the games.

Perhaps the Spurs, a model franchise, could take a page from the 2020 World Series champions. If there is an NBA venue equipped for safety, it is the AT&T Center.

Get your shot, make the game and cheer on your Spurs.
