Spurs ending the season on a tear

The Spurs beat, nay, upset, the reigning NBA champions last night, winning a nail-biter by one point. They have pushed their name into the conversation, possibly wreaking havoc on the seeding of the playoffs.

But there is one more specific aspect of last night’s win. The Spurs have avoided matching their worst season by notching their 21st win. While it may not be cause for celebration, it is a silver lining to a rough season.

It’s hard not to look back at the entire season as success. Starting with the drafting of Victor Wembanyama, through configurations and line-up changes as the young team developed, and then seeing them gel since the All-Star Break, going 6-4 in their last ten games. There may not be people honking in downtown, but there sure is an allusion to the possibility in the not-so-distant future.

What are you looking for in the next chapter of the Silver & Black?

What do the Spurs need to do to get there?
