“The Spurs are heading into overtime.”

The phrase has become all too familiar to fans this season as the Spurs have made a habit out of needing more than 48 minutes to determine a winner.

For the Spurs appearance in Mexico City against the “home” Phoenix Suns, the 20,013 fans in the sold-out event were treated to a spectacular, history-making game as the Spurs became the first NBA team to play four consecutive overtime games in the last 50 years.

The Spurs have gone 3-1 in these overtime matches beating the Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings, and now the Suns, losing only to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Lonnie Walker IV walked away limping off court before regulation ended but tweeted from the locker room.

Lonnie collided with former Spurs champion Aron Baynes. There was a warm moment where Walker IV made his way to the Big Banger to check on him.

There was an immense amount of goodwill between these two teams as Frank Kaminsky III also made effort to dap LaMarcus Aldridge after a particularly aggressive foul.

The Spurs head back stateside to Houston to take on a Rockets team that is sure to have a chip on their shoulder. Let’s hope that Lonnie Walker IV is feeling his usual self and ready to ruin James Harden for a second time in as many games.
