Open Thread: Scottie Pippin weighs in on Kawhi’s absence in Oakland

His thoughts open a new door in the chatter surrounding the Spur’s forward’s future.

With all the speculation of the Kawhi Leonard “situation,” pundits all over have been putting in their two cents. Scottie Pippen sat in on The Jump and had this to say:

Two quotes to point out from the Hall of Fame, six time NBA Champion:

“I’ve never seen a super star player not want to carry his team.”

This first comment doesn’t seem surprising, but it might be the first time that someone has expressed it.

It was his final observation that hit me in the chest.

“It’s like he’s lost his love for the game”

To know that Kawhi has spent every waking minute working on his game since before he was ever drafted and has not being able to play through his pain must be unbearable for him.

We’ll keep you updated as information comes in. But for now, it is as it has been — all speculation until it comes from The Klaw himself.
