Open Thread: Poll- The Spur most likely to have a big Game 4
In a season of erratic line-ups and playing time, expect a phoenix to emerge.
Three games have come and gone. Adjustments have been made. The Warriors have countered. The time is now. Sunday, the Spurs will take to the floor at the AT&T Center, perhaps for the last time this season.
LaMarcus Aldridge has been a beast. His numbers in Game 1 and 3 are hardly recognizable from Game 2. He must have a monster game. Nobody feels as strongly about his need to lead as he does. Win or lose, Aldridge will stand proud.
Adding Rudy Gay to the starting line-up has added points and defense. There have been no minced words about Gay’s desire to see this side of the regular season. And he has made his mark. Expect Rudy to start and play like the man he has been throughout this series.
Manu will leave it all on the floor tonight. Enough said.
What about the other seasoned team members?
Patty Mills has beefed up the Spurs offense but has been abused by Golden State at the other end of the court. Danny Green has been struggling throughout the series. And Tony Parker looked down and out with this match-up until he turned it around in Game 3. Even Pau Gasol is showing signs of life that were absent toward the end of the season.
As for the younger Spurs, there hasn’t been a consistency. Who are we kidding, the entire season has been inconsistent. But throughout the trials of this season, the far end of the bench has gotten a lot of valuable playing time. They may not know playoff time, but with all they’ve endured, there should be should be an x-factor to grasp the Warrior’s attention on Sunday.
One of these men will seemingly come out of nowhere and change the momentum of the deciding game. We’ve seen it before. And keep in mind, every member of the Spurs line-up took a turn in leading the team in scoring at least once this season. They are all capable.
Who are you putting you money on?
