Open Thread: Kyle Anderson nominated for “Assist of the Year”

NBA Awards recognize the best Slo-Mo fast break of the year

Last March, Kyle Anderson fed Davis Bertans on a fast break against the Memphis Grizzlies that nearly turned into a tragic turnover:

The result was a no-look-over-the-shoulder-alley-oop that led to a dunk. On that night, it took the honors as the “Budweiser Play of the Game”. Now the NBA has acknowledged the feat as a nominee in the category for “Assist of the Year”.

Slo-Mo has accomplished so for the Spurs in his fourth year stepping in as a starter and often bearing the brunt defensively of the opposing team’s superstar.

His pass was the best, but this thing could turn into a popularity contest as he’s got some competition from Ben Simmons, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and LeBron James.

You can vote for Anderson’s Assist of the Year as well as Dunk of the Year, Block of the Year, Clutch Shot of the Year, Handle of the Year and Best Style.

Vote directly on NBA.com, or cast a vote through social media by posting #AwardName and FirstLast Name of their winner. You can see how easy it is:

So show some love and cheer on our Spurs as they face Golden State back home tonight!
