Open Thread: Determining the face of the Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have never won an NBA title. They are still looking for their defining moment. That said, there have been some key players. But no player has historically impacted the team as deeply as Kevin Garnett.

The Big Ticket, a.k.a Kevin Garnett, spent fourteen seasons in Minnesota. From his first season until 2004, the Timberwolves made the playoffs each season. As the Timberwolves began to fall from grace, Garnett made a move to Boston to win his lone championship with the Celtics.

Garnett returned in 2014 and wrapped up his playing career a year later in the town where it all started.

Currently, Karl-Anthony Towns is the leader of the Timberwolves. Year after year, the franchise has made moves to give he and the team the best chance of honing in on contingency. Unfortunately, their lone winning season and playoff appearance was 2018. The Timberwolves have had five coaches during the Towns era, including two mid-season replacements.

The face of the franchise is Towns to claim, but it will be an uphill battle to ever unseat KG.
