Open Thread: A Spurscentric recap of the NBA All-Star Weekend

The two Spurs future superstars participated in four of the five major events
This past weekend Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle shined as ambassadors of the Spurs .
Friday night’s Rising Star competition ended with Team C taking the title and Stephon Castle picking up the Rising Star MVP hardware. Team C advanced to the All-Star competition where they dropped their match-up to Shaq’s OGs.
All-Star Saturday Night started with the Kia Skills Competition where the Spurs duo of Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul had the fastest time but were disqualified for not taking genuine shots in the course. The Cavaliers duo of Evan Mobley and Donovan Mitchell eventually won.
Mac McClung won an unprecedented third Dunk Contest, nailing each feat with perfect scores. Spurs phenom Stephon Castle was the runner-up with some impressive athleticism.
Both Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle put their best foot forward and played with integrity in the game. Both lost to Shaq’s OGs — the trophy hoisters — in the end.
In an event that isn’t always focused on the competition as much as the showmanship, the Spurs represented well.
It is hard to image future All-Star Weekends without Wemby and Castle.
