Open Thread: A look at the 2020 Spurs one month before the NBA trade deadline

Soobum Im-USA TODAY Sports

Teams hoping to alter their season must be prepared to act soon.

With the NBA trade deadline one month away, teams are bound to be looking for that missing piece. Those on the outside of the playoff picture looking in are assessing players from the other twenty-nine teams to determine if a move could be made to push them into the postseason.

What do you think, Pounders, are there any trades that could benefit one of those ninth or tenth seeded teams? Is there a lottery bound team that could be pulled out of the mud by a suave switch?

Our beloved San Antonio Spurs are currently in the eighth seed in the Western Conference despite owning a 14-20 record. Is there a move they can make to hope solidify their 23rd consecutive playoff berth?

Coincidentally, DeMarre Carroll and Davis Bertans are both making identical $7M salaries this season. There isn’t any chance the Wizards want to unload their second highest scorer and go full tilt lottery, is there?
