Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Man United have agreed a deal to send Amad Diallo out on loan

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskajer has confirmed that 19-year-old Amad Diallo will leave the club on loan.

Diallo joined the Reds from Atalanta in January for £37million but he has been limited to just eight appearances in all competitions for the club so far.

Solskjaer has now confirmed United have agreed a deal to send the youngster out on loan in the coming days but he didn’t reveal which club he will be heading to.

Speaking to the club website, Solskjaer said: ‘Yes I do (expect Diallo to go out on loan). It’s not 100 per cent signed but we’ve agreed.

‘I don’t have to say which team it is yet, but we’ve found a place that Amad feels excited about and we feel excited about.’

Diallo showed flashes of quality last season when he scored against AC Milan in the Europa League and then assisted Mason Greenwood in the Premier League at the backend of the campaign.

He has failed to make the squad for both of United’s league games this season and with the signing of Jadon Sancho and the imminent arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, it leaves him further down the pecking order and a spell out on loan could be valuable.

The Ivory Coast international has been previously linked with a move to Championship side Sheffield United with Slavisa Jokanovic keen to bolster his attack.

Diallo represented his country this summer at the Olympics where they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Spain.

United on Friday evening confirmed they will be signing Cristiano Ronaldo, 12 years after he left for Real Madrid.
