Odds show Broncos, Raiders favorites to trade for Packers’ Aaron Rodgers?

A report released hours before the opening night of the 2021 NFL Draft claiming that either the Denver Broncos or Las Vegas Raiders could trade for unsettled Green Bay Packers quarterback and reigning NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers by the end of that weekend proved to be inaccurate. Nevertheless, at least some still believe the Broncos or Raiders could soon pull the trigger on a blockbuster deal.

As of Wednesday afternoon, BetOnline.ag listed the Broncos as the favorites to be Rodgers’ next team at -250. The Raiders are second on the list at +500, somewhat surprisingly followed by the Cleveland Browns at +1400.

There’s more.

Current Green Bay backup Jordan Love remains the favorite at +150 to start for the Packers in Week 1 if Rodgers isn’t in the lineup for whatever reason for the Sept. 12 showdown with the New Orleans Saints. However, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst recently said Love has “got a long way to go,” suggesting the 2020 rookie won’t be ready to win as an NFL starting signal-caller this fall.

Next on the list of favorites to start for Green Bay in Week 1 is Teddy Bridgewater at +300 and then Drew Lock at +500. Bridgewater and Lock are scheduled to compete to be Denver’s QB1 this summer.

Raiders starter Derek Carr is +700 to serve as Rodgers’ immediate replacement.

For bettors who like to watch the world burn, Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks is +1200. Could Seattle and Green Bay exchange disgruntled future Hall of Famers before September?
