The National Weather Service wants you to stay home for the next few hours.

At around 4 p.m. on Friday, October 15, the NWS sent an emergency alert for the west central Bexar County area about a flash flood warning in effect until 7 p.m.

“This is a dangerous and life-threatening situation,” the alert stated. “Do not attempt to travel unless you are fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.”

In San Antonio, officials have repeatedly asked others to turn around, don’t drown. On early Thursday morning, first responders found the bodies of a woman and child in a Far East Side creek after their vehicles were swept away in floodwaters, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
