Update: 2:42 p.m. Thursday, November 10:  A widespread freeze is looking increasingly more likely in western and northern parts of the Hill Country by Sunday, November 13 morning, according to a new report by the National Weather Service.

A strong cold front bringing strong to severe storms will arrive by Friday, November 11, the weather service added. Isolated to severe storms are expected between 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday with large hail and damaging winds being the primary hazards.

Isolated amounts of rainfall are possible across the Hill Country and portions of the I-35 corridor resulting in a brief, light freeze possible Saturday, November 12, the NWS says.

Original story as follows:

San Antonio locals will have to pull out their coats this Friday, November 11, while some parts of the Hill Country could see freezing temperatures late into the weekend as another cold front moves in. The regional office for the National Weather Service anticipates temperatures will be as low as 45 degrees on Friday and 33 degrees in part parts of the Hill Country.

The cold front will make its way in Thursday night, November 10, bringing with it a 50% chance for rain throughout Friday, Veterans Day. Chances for rain will drop to 40% as we move into Friday night.

Saturday morning, November 12, is expected to be mostly sunny and clear, but San Antonio will have to pull out their coats as the expected high is 60 degrees for the Alamo City and in the mid-50s for northern parts of the Hill Country. San Antonio can expect a low of 42 degrees, but “isolated areas” of the Hill Country could see near freezing temperatures Saturday night and into Sunday morning, November 13, according to the NWS.

Fredericksburg, for example, has an expected low temperature of 33 degrees on Saturday night while Kerrville is expecting a low of 35 degrees. Cold temperatures are expected to continue into Monday and Tuesday, with expected highs in the low 60s.
