Novak Djokovic vs. Jannik Sinner prediction: Wimbledon picks, odds

Novak Djokovic has won the last four Wimbledon titles, is on a 33-match winning streak at the All England Club and is 47-2 in his last 49 best-of-5-set matches.

A 24th Grand Slam trophy seems inevitable for the Serb.

And while Djokovic may be the last one standing once again at Wimbledon, his last two matches haven’t been that straightforward.

Djokovic was fortunate to not be down two sets to none to Hubert Hurkacz in the Round of 16 and he lost the first set before coming back against Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals.

It’s hard to poke holes in Djokovic’s form, but each of those matches could have looked very different if his opponents had been able to hold their nerve during the big points.

Now that onus will fall on the shoulders of Jannik Sinner, who blew a two-set lead to Djokovic in the 2022 Wimbledon quarterfinals.

After a so-so clay season, Sinner has been superb at Wimbledon, losing just two sets en route to his first Grand Slam semifinal.

Sinner’s path to the semis has not been difficult — his highest-ranked opponent was World No. 79 Quentin Halys — so you can be skeptical of the true level of his form, but the other side of that argument is that the 21-year-old should be fresh for his battle with Djokovic on Friday on Centre Court.

A fresh, confident Sinner should be able to push Djokovic to the brink.
