NFL Analyst Lists Three Trade Destinations For Raiders’ Derek Carr

The Las Vegas Raiders made a lineup decision this week that is going to impact the franchise for years to go. They announced that Derek Carr would be benched for the remainder of the season, likely bringing an end to an era.

Carr has spent the first nine years of his NFL career as the Raiders’ starting quarterback and he owns virtually every passing record in franchise history. However, Christmas Eve against the Pittsburgh Steelers was likely the last time he will don the silver and black.

Carr threw three of his league-leading 14 interceptions against the Steelers, as turnovers have been an issue for him throughout the season. He never seemed comfortable in Josh McDaniels’ system, taking a major step back from the level of production he has shown the last few years.

Even the addition of his college teammate, All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, couldn’t help Carr get on track. Carr is averaging his lowest yards per game total since 2017 and it is the third-lowest total of his career. His completion percentage is also at its lowest since his rookie season in the NFL.

Despite his lackluster performance this season, should Carr be put on the trade block or released, he should have a robust market. Colin Cowherd, on his radio show The Herd, shared three teams that he believes Carr would be a great fit on; the New York Jets, Washington Commanders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
