Next cold front to bring jacket weather and possible thunderstorms to San Antonio after Thanksgiving

Get ready San Antonio for a 30-degree drop coming after the Thanksgiving holiday.

In addition to the cooler weather, rain and thunderstorms are also possible. The precipitation would be welcomed news since Bexar County is still under severe drought status, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. See an extended forecast below:

Wednesday (High 76 and Low 50) Mostly clear skies due to drier air that will allow temperatures to get cool at night but pleasant during the afternoon.

Thanksgiving (High 75 and Low 48) This holiday will be a temperature rollercoaster feeling like winter with temps in the 40s to start the day. Therefore, take a jacket if you plan to be outside to fry that turkey but you will not be need it in the afternoon. Best to dress in layers.

Friday (High 73 and Low 60) This is the day for the potential rain event! The cold front will start to move into San Antonio during the day around 3 p.m. bringing us a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. If the front starts to slow down as it approaches San Antonio we could see rain totals up to a half an inch with isolated areas up to two inches.

Saturday (High 61 and Low 42) The rain will continue through the afternoon with a 40 percent chance of rain and colder air will start to filter into the area. Good news, this cooler weather will stay around for the next couple of days into the start of December so break out the warmer clothes. Enjoy!
