The Newcastle United faithful have flooded to social media this evening, to highlight fresh concerns over the situation on the club’s bench.

ASM cancels out Raphinha

Steve Bruce’s men are of course currently locked in action.

In the first Premier League fixture of the weekend, the Magpies welcomed Leeds United to St. James’ Park, eyeing a much-needed three points.

Before tonight, Newcastle, like their opponents, had put just two points on the board, owing to a pair of draws and a pair of defeats across the club’s first four outings of the campaign.

And, as things stand on Tyneside, both sides look set to be forced to make with do with another point apiece.

It was Leeds who came out of the blocks much the stronger, culminating in the visitors open the evening’s scoring when Raphinha’s whipped delivery from the right made its way in at the back post:

Marcelo Bielsa’s men, though, soon took their foot off the pedal, allowing Newcastle a route back into proceedings.

And this was one which Magpies star man Allan Saint-Maximin went on to grab with both hands, pulling the home side level on the stroke of the interval, courtesy of a piece of individual brilliance:

‘Which one is the manager?’

As outlined above, though, it is not the goalscoring action at St. James’ thus far which has in fact piqued the widespread attentions of the Newcastle fanbase.

This, instead, has come in the form of ongoings on the touchline, and one particularly noteworthy moment late in the first-half.

The incident in question saw defender Matt Ritchie, amid a stoppage in play, make his way off the pitch to discuss matters with Steve Bruce.

However, as spotted by a whole host of Newcastle’s supporters, it appeared to be assistant manager Graeme Jones who instead took firm control of the situation, essentially brushing Bruce off to instruct Ritchie the plan of action for the hosts:
