NBPA Executive Director Tamika Tremaglio Supports NBA Expansion

The NBA has been rumored to be considering expansion for several years now. In recent years, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the league has no firm plans to expand, but has “dusted off that analysis” to be re-looked at.

New NBPA executive director Tamika Tremaglio says she supports expansion too.

“We do want more teams, I think it’s good for the business,’’ Tremaglio said during her opening keynote conversation with SBJ executive editor Abraham Madkour. “Ideally, we hope that there will be more teams popping up in the U.S.’’

Seattle and Las Vegas are widely considered the favorites to land the next NBA teams. Seattle has been in the mix since their original franchise, the SuperSonics, relocated to Oklahoma City.

Las Vegas is the home of NBA Summer League. Recently plans were announced to build a state-of-the-art arena, that Las Vegas hopes will host an expansion team.
