NBA Overrules Mavericks On Not Playing National Anthem Before Games

The NBA has overruled the decision from Mark Cuban to not play the national anthem before Dallas Mavericks games.

“With NBA teams now in the process of welcoming fans back into their arenas, all teams will play the national anthem in keeping with longstanding league policy,” wrote Mike Bass in a press release.

While Mark Cuban didn’t offer an explanation for why the Mavericks stopped playing the national anthem this season, he stated the franchise intended to make that decision an indefinite one.

“We are good with it,” Cuban told Marc Stein of The New York Times in response to the NBA’s announcement.
