To keep the numbers moving in the right direction, residents ages 16 and older can receive their COVID-19 vaccine at no-cost and without an appointment at the Alamodome between noon and 5 p.m. Friday. Nirenberg said they will have 300 doses available for walk-ins.

“We want to remind you to go get one as quickly as you can,” Nirenberg said. “We need to reach as many people as possible with this COIVD-19 vaccine that will put this pandemic finally behind us.”

On Thursday, officials reported 249 new COVID-19 cases in Bexar County, bringing the total number to 214,631 since the start of the pandemic in March 2020. No new deaths were reported.
