Michael Gallup Headlines Dallas Players on PUP

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup will begin training camp on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. The team can activate him at any point in the preseason. If Gallup starts the season on the PUP, he would have to remain on the list for at least four weeks.

He joins rookies Quandre Mosely, Dontario Drummond, and Aaron Hansford on the PUP to kick off training camp. Although the injured players are not able to participate in the preseason, for the time being, they are a part of the Cowboys’ 90-man camp roster.

Fifth-round draft choice Damone Clark was placed on the Non-Football Injury list. A spinal fusion surgery sidelines the linebacker for about six months, and Dallas has not ruled out the chances of Clark stepping on the field this year.

Why is Michael Gallup on the PUP?

In Week 17 of the 2021 season, Gallup tore his ACL after catching a touchdown pass against the Arizona Cardinals. He got surgery on his knee in early February after suffering the injury on Jan. 2.

The wide receiver’s rehab has progressed well, and he may return early in the regular season. A Week 1 return is unlikely at the moment.
