Micah Parsons is becoming Philly’s biggest superfan

Could Micah Parsons be a Philly fan trapped in a Dallas Cowboy body? It sure seems that way. He just can’t seem to help himself, with the most recent example coming at a Sixers game.

Parsons was present at the Wells Fargo Center on Sunday as the Philadelphia 76ers evened their playoff series with the Boston Celtics at 2-2. James Harden sealed the overtime victory with a thrilling three-pointer, but some fans were just as happy with Parsons’ attire.

The two-time All-Pro entered the arena wearing a Tyrese Maxey jersey and immediately caught the attention of Maxey himself who rushed to give him a hug and was obviously flattered by Parsons’ gesture.

It’s not the first time Parsons has shown affection for the City of Brotherly Love. Back in January, he praised the Eagles’ Lane Johnson on social media for playing through injury.

Parsons caught heat for the post, but doubled down on his praise by encouraging Johnson to win the Super Bowl. But Parsons’ appreciation for Philadelphia goes beyond the city’s current athlete’s, he also enjoys players that haven’t played a down yet.

During the recent NFL draft, Parsons partnered with Bleacher Report to provide live commentary. After the Eagles traded up to take Jalen Carter, Parsons was so visibly frustrated that he nearly left the studio.

What some saw as anger was actually a compliment to Carter. Once he calmed down Parsons explained how shocked he was to see Carter fall by saying, “The value of that pick is crazy. That’s an A-plus pick. I’m sick, but I can’t be mad at it.”

Parsons’ love for Philly isn’t completely random, as he is a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, just over 100 miles from Philadelphia.

So what’s next for the city’s newest superfan? The Phillies are off on Monday, but they welcome the Toronto Blue Jays for ‘Dollar Dog’ night on Tuesday. Someone get that man a Bryce Harper jersey and a hot dog.
