Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial harbinger of Summer, is officially here. If you have a three-day weekend, you may or may not have planned firing up the grill or tubing down the Comal. If that’s not the case, you might instead be attending one of the many events happening around town. Whatever you choose to do, there will be no rain falling down on your parade, according to the National Weather Service. However, it will be warm.

“It’s gonna be dry with no chances of rain through through Monday,” Jason Runyen, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, tells MySA. “We could use the rainfall, but I know lots of people are doing outdoor activities and might not want it during a holiday weekend.”

Highs for the weekend will extend into the mid to upper 90s across the San Antonio area, with skies remaining generally sunny, says Runyen. Low temperatures Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28, are expected to hover around 70 degrees. On Sunday, May 29, and Monday morning, May 30, humidity will increase, bringing low temperatures to the mid 70s. Winds will also pick up Sunday going into the holiday, stirring up some relief with breezy conditions.

“Just generally, we’ll have dry and warm conditions,” says Runyen.

So if you’re planning to be outdoors, be mindful of the heat and sunny skies. Hats go a long way. Sunscreen has been proven to reduce the risk of skin cancer, and scientifically, Lone Star’s are best served cold and consumed under the open Texas sky. Happy Memorial Day San Antonio.
