Featuring in all but two of Argentina’s matches at the tournament in the Middle East, Licha was an unused substitute in the final, but did help Lionel Scaloni’s side to their first victory against Mexico, having lost their opening group game to Saudi Arabia.
The former Ajax man then missed out in his country’s final Group C encounter against Poland, but played in the round of 16, quarter and semi-finals against Australia, the Netherlands and Croatia respectively.
Martinez returned following the celebrations to feature in our victories over Bournemouth and Manchester City and has made 45 appearances for the Reds in his debut season.
