As the new year continues to march on, we are heading to our next federal holiday of the year. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 16, and many San Antonio city services will be closed or have adjusted hours.

Despite the closures, much of the city will come together to celebrate the holiday and participate in the MLK March, which is returning in-person for the first time since 2020. The annual march typically draws more than 300,000 participants and has been called the largest MLK March in the country.
