Actor Mark Ruffalo, who’s best known for playing The Hulk in The Avengers films, is urging Texas to go out and vote for progressive candidate Jessica Cisneros, who’s hoping to unseat incumbent Rep. Henry Cuellar in District 28.

“Let’s go Texas! Tomorrow is Election Day and the last day to vote for @JCisnerosTX,” Ruffalo tweeted on Monday, May 23. “It’s time to support Democrats fighting for working class people.”

The final day to vote for the primary runoff elections is Tuesday, May 24. Voting kicked off in San Antonio at 7 a.m. at 258 polling locations and ends at 7 p.m., according to the Bexar County Elections Department. Registered voters can check their registration and find their nearest polling center at the elections department website

Ruffalo isn’t the only celebrity backing Cisneros. Comedian Chelsea Handler tweeted her support, asking Texas to check out Cisneros, who she said “will work on protecting your rights.”

Senator Bernie Sanders also gave Cisneros a boost after co-hosting a rally in San Antonio on Friday, May 20. He said Cisneros is offering a “bold” agenda that speaks to the needs of Texas’ 28th district, which covers a portion of Eastside San Antonio and then travels south into Laredo.

Cisneros, a Laredo attorney, took on Cuellar in the 2020 primary. She once worked as an intern in Cuellar’s office. but now she is criticizing his work with Republicans on border legislation and for being the only Democrat to vote against an overhaul of labor laws.
