Manchester City ‘prepared to listen to offers for out-of-favour Oleksandr Zinchenko in January’

Manchester City will listen to offers for Oleksandr Zinchenko with four Premier League clubs interested in a January move, according to reports.

Zinchenko has fallen down the pecking order under Pep Guardiola this season and has completed just 12 Premier League minutes.

Benjamin Mendy is the Catalan boss’ No 1 choice at left-back, while Joao Cancelo and Nathan Ake have filled in in the position ahead of the Ukrainian.

And according to 90min, four Premier League clubs – namely Wolves, Southampton, Leicester and West Ham – have all sounded City out over a potential move.

Zinchenko refused a move to Molineux in the summer of 2018 but Nuno Espirito Santo’s men reportedly remain interested in his services.

The report adds that there is also interest in him from Russia – where Zinchenko previously played for Ufa – as well as Italy, Spain and Germany.

The same outlet claims Guardiola has held talks with the 24-year-old and informed he that he is not guaranteed any first-team football but also opened the door for him to fight for his place at the Etihad Stadium.

Zinchenko’s other four appearances this season have come in the Champions League, but he has only made the City bench in the Premier League on three occasions alongside his short cameo against West Ham.

The defender has made 73 appearances for City since arriving in 2016, and still has four years left to run on his Etihad Stadium contract after signing a three-year extension in June last year.

Other reports have suggested however that City may try and move Zinchenko as part of the plan to raise some funds to sign Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
