Man United talent at no.1 but Barcelona’s winner not included: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Kopa Trophy votes revealed

A photo has surfaced online, showcasing the votes cast by Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo, among others, for this year’s Kopa Trophy.

Messi bags number 7

The subject of individual accolades has of course taken its place front and centre across the world of football over the course of the week to date.

This comes on the back of the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday.

A tense two-way race for football’s most coveted individual prize was eventually won by Lionel Messi, who, owing to his heroics at this summer’s Copa America with Argentina, pipped Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski to the post:

The ‘Golden Ball’ itself, however, was far from the only award handed out in the French capital.

Alongside it came the Women’s Ballon d’Or – Alexia Putellas, the Striker of the Year – Robert Lewandowski, and the Kopa Trophy, secured by the best of the best U21 player on the planet.

In the end, Barcelona starlet Pedri emerged triumphant in the Kopa voting, beating out stiff competition from the likes of Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala:

One individual, however, who evidently felt as though others were more deserving of the accolade, was Cristiano Ronaldo.

This comes after a leaked photo to have made its way online this evening revealed exactly who the Portuguese icon voted for as his top-3 Kopa candidates.

On top? Manchester United teammate Mason Greenwood, followed by fellow countryman Nuno Mendes, and Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna:

The final voting, dominated by Pedri, can be looked into in more detail below:
