Man United boss Solskjaer urges players to learn from Edinson Cavani

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recently been praising Man United’s Edinson Cavani.

Man United go top, again

Manchester United were in Premier League action on Wednesday evening.

After Manchester City and Leicester had already picked up wins earlier in the week, United needed to see off Fulham to ensure they returned to the PL summit for the time being.

And though Fulham put up a decent fight and actually took the lead in the tie, it would indeed by the Red Devils who came out on top when 90 minutes were said and done.

Edinson Cavani drew United level whilst Paul Pogba’s latest, stunning strike ensured that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. picked up all three points.

Solskjaer praises Cavani

His equaliser on Wednesday would be Cavani’s 4th league goal of the season – a solid record despite being largely used as a sub.

And most of those goals have been of importance as well. Wednesday’s was obviously crucial to United picking up the win, whilst his brace vs Southampton helped United fight from behind to win 3-2.

Now, after another solid showing from the Uruguayan, Solskjaer has been praising Cavani, urging others to learn from him:

“He’s a centre forward that you want in the box. His movement is incredible, it’s for everyone to learn from.

“It’s almost like I get frustrated at times when he goes wide to put the crosses in because he’s the one that you want in there and sometimes I have to ask him to do less running but even in the second half, the header was a great save by Areola.

“He’s come down the side a few times and his movement is spot on, so he’s the type of centre forward that we’ve been looking for and he complements Marcus (Rashford) and Mason (Greenwood) and Anthony (Martial) really.”
