Man United boss Rangnick provides insight into plans for Mason Greenwood
Ralf Rangnick has, on Sunday, provided an insight into his plans for Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood moving forward.
Fred the difference
Greenwood, of course, played a key role in Rangnick’s first victory as Red Devils boss earlier today.
After officially replacing caretaker manager Michael Carrick in the dugout in Manchester, Rangnick marked his debut as United head coach in a Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
And the exciting new era at the Theatre of Dreams subsequently got off to the perfect start.
A fine display, across which they dominated in terms of both possession and chances created, ultimately played out into a 1-0 United victory.
The rejuvenated Fred made the difference on the day, picking out the far top corner courtesy of a pinpoint right-footed effort inside the closing fifteen minutes of action:

‘More game-time’
Fred’s eventual winner came about after a clever turn and layoff in the Palace area, on the part of the aforementioned Mason Greenwood.
English international Greenwood was introduced off the bench on Sunday, thrown into the fray by his new boss shortly after the hour mark, in a surprise switch with Jadon Sancho.
In turn, speaking on the back of the action coming to a close in Manchester this afternoon, Rangnick was unsurprisingly drawn on the talents of his up-and-coming hitman, who has endured something of a barren spell in front of goal of late.
And the German’s ensuing response will no doubt bring a smile to the face of many a Red Devils fan, with Rangnick, after hailing Greenwood’s talents, having assured that his plan is to ‘give him more game-time in the future’:
Rangnick: “Mason [Greenwood] did so well at the start of the season, I think he scored three or four goals in the first three games, he’s a very gifted homegrown player and I would love to give him more game-time in the future.” #mulive
