Man, two girls found dead outside San Marcos home after custody call

A man, a baby and a toddler were found dead outside a home in San Marcos moments after he reportedly took the children from his girlfriend Thursday morning, authorities said.

A child custody call was made by a woman at 9:35 a.m. in the 900 block of Boulder Bluff, according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman told deputies at the scene that her boyfriend took her 6-month-old and 2-year-old girls and left the house.

As deputies were talking to the mother, a family member in the house told deputies there was a body on the ground outside the home.

A deputy then found the man dead with a gunshot wound. The two girls were also dead nearby, authorities said.

Deputies did not say how old the man was, nor how the girls died. A judge ordered autopsies for the three, officials said.
