A man in his mid-30s is hospitalized in critical condition after a shooting near downtown, according to San Antonio police.
The shooting happened Tuesday evening near the 400 block of Austin Street, just east of Highway 281.
Police said a man, also in his mid-30s, was chasing the victim during an altercation. The gunman finally caught up to the man and shot him multiple times in the chest, SAPD said.
It’s unclear what led to the altercation or shooting.
Passersby attempted to help the victim before he was transported to a nearby hospital, according to police.
The gunman, who was reportedly wearing black clothing and possibly had a dog with him, took off on foot. Police are still looking for him and the weapon used.
