What’s been said?

Heading into the game, Guardiola reveals that it will be a ‘good game’ despite the German side missing a few key players.

‘They are so aggressive in the high pressing, have an incredible build-up, use the keeper. Eight players inside, two incredible wide full-backs. You close inside they go to full backs. When you defend outside they have more players inside,’ Guardiola said at his pre-match press conference.

‘So difficult to control. Have to be in the right tempo for pressing. (We have to) Try to find our spaces and places, our quality to punish them. Hopefully defend because we are better.

‘We have to win the game, and to win we have to try. Will be a good game, they have a fantastic team. At Munich they were in second division, since then, they do incredible.’

Marco Rose says that his side will need to deliver their best performance of the season

As for Leipzig, Rose believes that his side will have to deliver the best game of their season in order to progress.

‘We played against Man City three weeks ago. We know what we’ll come up against – it’s nothing new. City will certainly look to refine the details, because we didn’t allow them many chances in Leipzig,’ he said at his pre-match press conference.

‘We were, however, and didn’t know what to do when we had possession.

‘We want to be more and have more active in defence and have more possession. In theory, that always sounds good. In the end, you have to find the right balance against a top team like that. We can’t go wrong if we have trust and confidence. The fact is that we will need to deliver our best game of the season.’

Prediction

With City managing to come away with a draw in the first leg, the side will certainly back themselves to progress through his evening.

City’s main man Haaland has been unstoppable at times this season for the English side, and if he can deliver, the English side will progress.

As for Leipzig, despite their injury problems, they showed in the first leg that they can hurt City.

Their quick forward play could cause havoc for City’s defence.

Prediction – 3-1 Manchester City
