‘Little Old Citeh!’ ‘Not Bad For A Team That’s Just A Decade Old’ Fans React As Forbes Ranks City As 2nd Most Valuable British Club

Manchester City have been ranked 34th on Forbes’ Most Valuable Sports Teams list, making them the second-highest-ranking British club, behind rivals Manchester United in 10th.

Chelsea are 37th on the list whilst Arsenal are 47th, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham failing to make the top 50. The two top-ranking football teams were Real Madrid (6th) and Barcelona (8th).

Supporters on Twitter were delighted by how far City have come under the guidance of Sheikh Mansour’s Abu Dhabi group over the past twelve years:

Considering the Citizens were playing in the third tier at the beginning of this century, it really is a massive turnaround in the club’s fortunes and a remarkable achievement to be classed as one of the world’s most valuable sports teams.

With the club investing in its infrastructure, from academy level to feeder teams right across the globe, there is every likelihood that they’ll be moving higher up the list in the coming seasons.
