Leicester have renewed their interest in Ismail Jakobs and have been joined by Brighton in monitoring the Cologne prospect.

Jakobs, 21, has been on Leicester’s radar for over a year following his Bundesliga breakthrough last season, as previously revealed by MailOnline.

And they are again among the Premier League sides keeping tabs on the versatile Jakobs ahead of the summer window.

The Foxes top-flight rivals Brighton have also made enquiries about Jakobs, a speedy, skilful and hard-working youngster who can play anywhere along the left flank.

Germany Under 21 international Jakobs caught the eye during his debut campaign in Cologne’s first team last term.

He ended it being nominated for the Bundesliga’s rookie of the year award alongside the likes of eventual winner Alphonso Davies and Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland having won the monthly award in December.
