Leicester City have made an enquiry for Fiorentina’s Argentina international left winger Nico Gonzalez.

The 24-year-old is available for £30million with the Serie A side willing to cash in this January transfer window.

Primarily a left winger, Gonzalez can play in a variety of roles – on the right or as a centre-forward – and would provide Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers with flexibility in tactics.

Gonzalez would have been part of victorious Argentina’s 26-man squad in Qatar too having been initially selected, before having to withdraw due to injury during their training camp.

Injuries have plagued the winger this season too, reducing him to just 11 matches – although he has scored five times in those outings.

Joining from Stuttgart in the summer of 2021, Gonzalez enjoyed a fine debut campaign in Florence – scoring eight times and providing nine assists in 39 matches across Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
